Sports - What's More Important Than Games?

It's the most wonderful time of the year: the playoffs. Only one thing is wrong with  빅토리티비  this year: everyone, and I mean _everyone_ is talking about the playoffs. While the fans are still interested in the games that matter the most during the regular season, everyone can now focus on one thing: the World Series, the NBA Finals, and the Stanley Cup Final. It's incredible how much excitement there is around the postseason, but before we get to the good part, let's discuss the bad: everyone is trying to figure out which teams are going to make the playoffs and which teams are going to miss out. This is highly undesirable. There is so much more to sports than just the games themselves; there is strategy, team chemistry, and even entertainment value. As a fan of a certain sport, you should be able to tune in to any game and not have to worry about whether or not your team is going to make it to the postseason. This is why I've collected a list of reasons why you might want to tune in to more than just the games this year.

Strategy And Competing Teams Dies Down During The Season

It's natural for fans to be interested in a team that they support; after all, they've been season ticket holders for a long time and watched their team fight for championships throughout the season. However, the best strategy for a sports team is to keep their strategies secret until the season is over: this way, the fans will have one less thing to talk about during the off-season. If a team decides to change their strategy midway through the season, it can damage their chances of winning; this is why it is so important to keep silent until the season is over. When the season ends and the regular season stat sheets are turned in, it's then that the coaches and general managers can work together to improve on what didn't work during the season. Unfortunately, this is not something that will be available to fans this year: the playoffs this year will determine the championship teams, and that is all that is available for the fans to discuss. When fans can't discuss something as important as competition and strategy, it shows how much this year's postseason will matter.

More Exciting Finishes

I don't mean to sound like a broken record, but I think it's important to keep repeating myself: the postseason is when it's really exciting to be a sports fan. I'm sure that every sport fan has experienced this moment when they're watching a tense game and everything is on the line. In that moment, it doesn't matter whether or not your team has the best record in the league: you just want to see your team winning. This is what makes sports so interesting: the fact that even when your team is losing, you can always find someone who will cheer for them. It's amazing to think that a few months ago, nobody knew who would be playing in the World Series and now it's down to the wire. Even when it's bad, it's never boring: you can always find something to look forward to, whether it's an exciting play or a new twist on an old play. It's amazing how much this has changed since the start of the year: you wouldn't know what is going on half of the time, but you always know that there's going to be at least one exciting moment. I think it's safe to say that nobody is going to miss out on the fun this year, especially since we are only a few games away from the end.

More Than Meets The Eye

When you're a sports fan, you know that there is so much more to sports than games: there is strategy, team chemistry, and even entertainment value. Throughout the season, you might wonder what is going on: some teams are just plain dull while others seem to be entertaining the fans with their play. All of this could be attributed to the fact that some teams don't win a lot of games while others seem to be getting everything done through sheer determination. Even when your team is losing, there is still plenty to watch: you can see the character of the players as they continue to fight until the end. When we're all done at the end of the season, it will be clear how much sports really mean to us; it's more than just the games themselves, it's who we are as people. When all is said and done, we will remember the fights, the strategies, and most importantly, the wins and losses along the way. It's the people that matter in sports and not the teams themselves: we will remember the fights and the championship celebrations, not the regular season stats that came before it.

It's been a rough year for sports fans: no World Series, no National League Championship, and the Stanley Cup Finals were all held this year. While there is still plenty to look forward to in terms of individual games, it's clear that the postseason is the time when sports fans should be focusing on: the last four games of the season will determine which teams are going to make the postseason, and it's important to remember that once the season is over, that's it. We will all be able to breathe a sigh of relief once the World Series is over, but until then, we have games to look forward to: the final chance at some much-needed amusement in what has been a trying year. If you're a sports fan this year, I think it's important to remember that while the regular season may be over, the fun is just beginning: you are never too old to have fun playing sports and watching them play.
